Zusammenfassung: | A method of providing substantially euhedral diamond grains of a mean size of 5 -100 microns. The method includes providing a synthesis assembly comprising: a source of carbon material, a plurality of seed grains on which diamond material can crystallise, and solvent-catalyst material for promoting the crystallisation of the diamond grains. The synthesis assembly is subjected to a condition for growing the diamond grains. An ultra high pressure and temperature furnace (UHTP) may be used to provide these conditions. Figure 1 gives an example assembly 100, where it comprises a solid cylindrical synthesis assembly 110 and a pair of solid cylindrical buffer bodies 120 separated by a barrier disc 130.
