Method and arrangement for operating a hybrid vehicle

Method for operating hybrid vehicle 2 having internal combustion engine 4 and electric motor 6 with a boost mode in which drive is provided simultaneously by ICE 4 and motor 6 for a specific distance 14 to be travelled. Boost mode may be selected by driver / operator / person in control of vehicle 2. Distance 14 of operation may be defined as a function of energy supply in an electrical energy accumulator, supply of combustion fuel (e.g. petrol / diesel) in a fuel tank of vehicle 2, gradient / topology of route being / to be travelled, air / rolling resistance / meteorological conditions on route being / to be travelled. Distance 14 of operation may be defined for one-off, uninterrupted use. A control unit 10 may be used to implement boost mode at the maximum for a specific distance 14 of travel.
