Zusammenfassung: | Gas turbine engine fan stand 40 with hinge 46 joining base frame 42 and fan case frame 44, frame 44 rotating about hinge 46, tilting about yaw axis 52 perpendicular to hinge 46, and having coupling arrangement 56 rotating about roll axis 60 perpendicular to hinge 46 for attaching to fan case (figure 1, 36). Fan case frame 44 may rotate about hinge 46 by 90 to 100 degrees, tilt about yaw axis 52 by 1 to 5 degrees, and rotate about roll axis 60 by up to 50 degrees. Yaw 52 and roll 60 axes may be coincident with fan case frame 44 centre and mutually perpendicular. Cross frame 78 may effect lateral fan case frame 44 movement parallel to hinge 46. Hydraulic mechanism 48, 50, 54, 62 may effect rotation, tilt, roll, or lateral movement. Alignment features 64 may engage with a core stand (figure 3, 38). Methods of separating (engine splitting) and re-assembling a gas turbine engine also included. |
