Switching a common connection of a transmitter and a first receiver from a first antenna to a second antenna in a diversity reception apparatus

A mobile device comprises a switch unit configured to switch a common connection of a transmitter and a first receiver from a first antenna to a second antenna and a connection of a respective second receiver from the second antenna to the first antenna. Upon detecting S14 that the transmitter needs to transmit via the second antenna, power-related reception parameters of the first and second receivers are obtained S16, the common connection of the transmitter and the first receiver is switched S18 so that the transmitter transmits via the second antenna, and power of the transmitter is adjusted S20 in dependence on the power-related reception parameters. A switch condition may be detected upon the basis of an evaluation S12 of a communication link via the first and second antennas. This arrangement may be used within a vehicle (10 fig.1) having a first main antenna, used for receiving and transmitting, and a second antenna, for diversity reception, in two side mirrors (12, 14 fig.1).
