Improvements in or relating to door handle arrangements

A handle arrangement comprising backplates 22, 24, bosses 32 having internally threaded passages 34 for receiving mounting screws 28, and a protector arrangement 40, 42 which bears, in use, on the shank 54 of one of the screws received in one of the bosses to limit deflection of the shank relative to the boss. The protector arrangement may comprise a sleeve having a close fit with the shank. Additionally, the protector arrangement preferably comprises a first portion having a bore for receiving the shank and a second portion which, in use, is seated around the boss. These portions may be integrally formed. The protector arrangement may also comprise a cavity for receiving a lock cylinder. Preferably, there is a protector arrangement for each boss. Tampering, by gripping and rocking the outer backplate 24 to flex the screws, is resisted and alignment between the screws and the bosses is maintained so that the relatively weak threaded length 36 of the screws is protected against snapping.
