Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:A scheduler for a cellular telecommunications network having a first base station, the base station corresponding to a first cell, the scheduler being adapted to: identify a geographical location of a first mobile device connected to the base station; obtain resource usage information of mobile devices located in proximity to the first mobile device but connected to a second cell of the network; and, based on the geographical location of the first mobile device/User Equipment (UE) and the resource usage information, allocate Resource Blocks (RBs) to the first mobile device. Aspects of the invention include identifying if the mobile device is located at the edge of the cell (identifying category of UEs), and identifying the geographical location of the mobile device if it is located at the edge of the cell. Further aspects include forwarding a report of RB allocation and location information to a different network component. By basing the allocation of the resource blocks to UE based on the specific location of UE in the cell area, in addition to, or instead of, whether or not the UE is positioned at the edge of the cell, the risk of resource block conflict is mitigated and the interference caused by MSs connected to other cells of the network is reduced.
