Zusammenfassung:	A device suitable for retaining a component, such as a light fitting, in a desired position relative to a surface comprises a collar or cuff 2 attachable to the component 6. The device 2 has a portion which is movable between a first, retracted position and a second, extended position. In the retracted position the device 2 is of a dimension which can pass through an aperture in a wall, and wherein in the extended position the device 2 is of a dimension which exceeds a corresponding dimension of the aperture so as to retain the device 2, and an attached component 6, in the desired position. The device 2 is preferably attached to the component 6 around substantially an entire perimeter of the component 6. The moveable portion is preferably biased towards the extended position. The device 2 may be adjustable in size to fit different sized components 6.
