Shelf-ready package with top and front apertures

A package 1 and its associated blank (figure 1), the package is transporting and dispensing items for sale, the package 1 having a transporting configuration (figure 3) and a dispensing configuration from which items for sale 8 can be withdrawn from either an aperture located in the front 10 or top 11 portion of the package. In the transportation configuration the package defines a compartment for retaining the items for sale which is substantially closed, with at least a front and a top portion. To form the dispensing configuration from the transportation configuration one or more panels are removed and/or folded. In the dispensing configuration a panel 20 may be folded under the package to tilt the package backwards about the lower, rear edge, raising a front portion relative to the rear of the package. A method of forming the container is also disclosed comprising forming two blanks and forming an open-topped compartment from the first blank. This compartment is filled with the items for sale and the second blank formed into a lid for the package, the lid is then connected to the open-topped compartment such that the outer front panel overlies the front panel.
