Zusammenfassung: | At the user equipment (UE), at least two radio wave signals are received, preferably on different respective UE antennas. Fading conditions in relation to the received signals are detected and uplink antenna selection in the user equipment is controlled at least on the basis of the detected fading conditions. Detecting the fading conditions may involve determining the signal delay spread between received radio wave signals, determining which antenna receives a signal first, detecting line-of-sight, or detecting a scattering scenario. Detecting the fading conditions may involve determining a fading parameter such as fading delay, Doppler spread, angle of arrival or polarization. In an alternative embodiment transmit antenna selection at the UE is based on one or more motionrelated characteristics of the UE. In either embodiment, a network entity such as a base station may perform the antenna selection on the basis of its analysis of an uplink signal from the UE, combined with fading conditions or motion-related characteristics communicated from the UE. The antenna selection may additionally take into account a signal quality parameter such as RSSI, BER, SNR or SIR. |
