Zusammenfassung: | In a virtualized computing environment, resource partitions 125a-c are located in divisions such as logical partitions 115a-b or computer systems. When a resource partition is to be migrated 305 from one division to another, the computer system detects the relocation event. It then determines whether an additional partition or virtual environment in the division, comprising a distinct operating environment, is sufficiently related to the partition being moved. This is preferably done by analyzing communication traffic between the partitions. If it is found to be sufficiently associated, the additional virtual machine may be moved 310 to the same destination, so as to preserve the inter-partition communication structure and prevent unnecessary use of bandwidth. The system may compare and rank multiple additional partitions, and may determine which partition to move based on bandwidth impact, or may relocate more than one such partition. |
