Zusammenfassung:A connector 3 for connecting an impeller 1 to a shaft 2. The impeller has a shaft-side hub extension H with a central recess. The connector is inserted into the recess to frictionally connect an outwardly facing surface 14 of the connector with a radially inner surface of the hub extension. The connector has a threaded portion 12 which screws onto a corresponding threaded portion 7 of the shaft. The connector has an abutment surface 21 which engages a corresponding abutment surface 4 of the shaft when the thread portions are screwed together. The abutment surfaces are inclined from the radial direction such that, when the abutment surfaces engage as the thread portions are screwed together, the outwardly facing surface of the connector is urged radially outwardly to increase the strength of the frictional connection with the radially inner surface of the hub extension.
