Zusammenfassung: | Method of casing a well using an expandable sand screen. The sand screen is a longitudinally corrugated pipe 1 with slots 5 which are temporarily sealed 7. After running the sand screen into a formation it is expanded by pressure. A heat carrier is then supplied to the sand screen to unseal the slots 5. The slots are sealed by a thermoplastic 7 which is melted by the heat carrier. Adjacent pipes are connected by cylindrical end portions 4. There may be an anchor and a sealing shoe with a valve to create excess pressure after the sand screen is run into the well. The slots 5 may be positioned on bulges 6 of the longitudinally ribbed pipes 1. Adjacent pipes can be connected through a thermal compensator (12 / 13, FIG 3). There may be a collar (14, FIG 4) in the connection between adjacent pipes 1. |
