Zusammenfassung:A method of controlling soot burn in a diesel particulate filter (DPF) of a vehicle comprises deriving a gradient value from a change in a measured pressure difference across the DPF, and controlling regeneration of the DPF in response to the derived gradient value. Differential pressure may be measured by respective downstream and upstream pressure sensors. Preferably, the pressure difference normalized by dividing by the corresponding measured volume flow of exhaust gas through the DPF.
