Installing fibre optic cables to the invert of sewer pipes

A system for installing fibre optic cables to the invert of sewer pipes or drainage systems or ducts. The system may include a fixing means having a polyurethane membrane 8 with a needle felt backing which is impregnated with silicate resin is fixed over a fibre optic cable 9 inside a sewer pipe 7, this is may then fixed into position using the semi-flexible cabletrak press tool 2 and inflatable packer until the resin has cured and hardened. The inflatable packer and semi flexible cabletrak press tool can then be withdrawn leaving the polyurethane membrane 8 hardened and compressed over the fibre optic cable thus holding it into position and allowing it to be tensioned. The membrane may also give structural enhancement to the host sewer pipe and reduces installation time.
