Electrical contact capable of high current conduction and large number of operations

An electrical connector that is capable of high current conduction and a large number of operations (i.e. connection/disconnection with, for example, a fixed electrical contact 70) comprises a casing 51, within which is mounted a mobile piston 58 that provides electrical connection and/or disconnection. The casing 51 comprises: a first cavity 512 which contains a split sleeve 52 that is formed of a base 53 terminated by at least two lips 54 which receive the piston 58; and a second cavity 511 which contains a device 56 for shifting the mobile piston 58. The mobile piston 58 may comprise a pin 57 capable of moving through the first 512 and second 511 cavities and having an external end 572 that comes into contact with a flat connection zone 71 of the fixed contact 70. The pin 57 may be a cylindrical rod with a radial protrusion 573 that is placed in the second cavity 511 to limit movement of the pin. The shifting device 56 may be a spring that is mounted around the pin 57 and may be compressed in the second cavity 511 by the radial protrusion 573 of the pin 57.
