Zusammenfassung:	An object of the present invention is to provide an aqueous coating composition comprising an (A) aluminium pigment treated with molybdic acid and a (B) condensed polycyclic pigment. The aqueous coating composition can achieve a small difference between the color of a coating film formed by application of the coating composition after storage and a color of the coating film formed by application of the coating composition before storage. The aqueous coating composition of the present invention inhibits hydrogen gas generation, and thus has excellent storage stability. The present invention provides an aqueous coating composition, comprising: (A) aluminium pigment treated with molybdic acid; (B) condensed polycyclic pigment; (C) resin having an aromatic ring with a nitro group bonded thereto; and (D) film-forming resin.
