Zusammenfassung: | A navigation device 400 (such as a finger mouse) comprising a proximity detector which detects movement of an activator or actuator 402 above the device. Each proximity detector 404 may comprise an array of single photon avalanche diodes (SPADs), wherein a light or illumination source 408 transmits light 406 away from a detector such that light is reflected by the activator to this detector. The SPAD array may be connected to a multiplex and a counter to measure the reflected illumination. The device may measure movement in three axes, which includes measuring the height of the activator above the surface 410 of the device. The movement in this third axis may be used for functions other than navigation, such as volume or brightness control. The activator may be a user s finger. The navigation device may be included as part of a computer, mobile/cell phone, or computer mouse. |
