Flat-screen display with minimal front framing

A display device comprises a flat display panel 300, such as an LCD, or plasma panel, which is secured using adhesive means 500, 800 to upper 200 and lower 700 guide frames mounted on a rear cover 100, with a panel driver 400 positioned inside the rear cover, and a lower finishing material 600 supporting the panel and coupled to the lower guide frame. The adhesive means may comprise a hook-and-loop fastening. The lower finishing material may be secured to the lower side of the panel by further adhesive means. The upper guide frame may also support the upper side of the panel. The arrangement is designed to minimise the thickness of the device and eliminate the deterioration of image brightness caused by the presence of an additional tampered glass covering in front of the display panel.
