Zusammenfassung:	A cementing composition for use in subterranean wells is disclosed along with methods for using same, where the composition includes a hydraulic cement and a weighting system comprising a metal silicon alloy, mixtures of metal silicon alloys, or mixtures of metal silicon alloys and conventional weighting agents, to produce compositions having a desired high density, while retaining other fluid properties. Also disclosed are drilling fluids and spacer fluids which comprise a silicon metal alloy.
