Starting at the time Z at which at least one region of a measurement part la, lb has reached, or come within range of, the predetermined measurement temperature TN, measurement values are established for the changing width d of the measurement gap S and/or for the rate of change in width or readjustment of width Î d/Î t, and the measurement of the rheological parameters is only commenced once these measurement values have dropped below a specific predetermined threshold.
