Air treatment apparatus comprising germicidal UV-C radiation sources

The invention relates to an apparatus for killing micro-organisms, and more particularly, to an improved fluid purification device. In a preferred embodiment the device (1) comprises a chamber (2) with a working volume (v), comprising six faces, of substantially hexagonal cross section, an inlet (3) and an outlet (4), an air mover (7) and six elongate UV-C light sources (6) arranged substantially equidistance within the working volume of the chamber, each being inset centrally from a chamber face. Alternatively, the chamber may be triangular in cross section and the UV lamps may be arranged in an equilateral triangular fashion. In a further embodiment, the chamber is diamond shaped in cross section and the lamps are arranged in the chamber in a diamond.
