Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:	A mine rib support 1 for bracing a vertical mine rib or wall 2 disposed between a mine floor 3 and a mine roof 4. The support is telescopically expandable longitudinally for engaging the mine floor and the mine roof and a support plate 30 is laterally extendable from the support into engagement with the mine rib. The engagement with the mine roof, floor and wall or rib is adjustable so the support can be placed in a pre-stressed supporting condition. The means by which the support is expanded and locked longitudinally is adapted to laterally expand the rib engagement plate. The support includes plates 10 secured to the ends of the shaft to engage the floor and roof or the mine, the plates include outwardly hinged portions 8 biased to bite or gouge into the surface fixing the support when it is placed in pre-stressed engagement with the mine rib.
