A paint or tool holder for use with a ladder

A holder for facilitating the use of paint and/or tools by a person when standing on a ladder, comprises a frame 200 suitable for holding a receptacle 301 for paint and/or tools. The holder also includes a bracket 100 for releasably attaching the tray to a side member of a ladder, the bracket consisting of two plates 101 connected together by U-shaped links 103, 104 which allow the plates to move relative to each other and remain parallel. The bracket further includes a releasable retaining means 108 adapted to engage with the ladder, preferably with a rung, in order to provide a more secure attachment. Similar retaining means may be provided on each side of the bracket so that the holder can be used on either side of the ladder.
