Zusammenfassung:A hand held chemical detection device comprises a chemical detection apparatus having a casing with a handle or other holding device positioned substantially above the center of mass of the chemical detection device when the chemical detection device is held by the user in the chemical detection device's in use orientation. The chemical detection apparatus may be one or more of a spectrophotometer, photoionization detector, gas or liquid chromatograph. Taguchi gas detector or mass spectrophotometer. In use, the portioning of the handle allows the user to hold the chemical detection device in a steady and precise manner whilst sampling.
