Dial display

The present invention relates to a peripheral indicator dial display device (1) having a dial display (2) in which a moving position indicator assembly formed from a rotateable structure (4) and a pointer display flag (6) is pivoted from behind a central display area (36) and extends through an arc-shaped opening (32) to provide a display indication on a display area (8) of the dial display. The rotateable structure (4) includes a supporting section (44) for the display flag. The supporting section (44) extends from a central pivot (42) and through the opening and in use is rotated by a stepper motor (10) in order to rotate the peripheral display flag (6) around an axis of rotation (14) in order to indicate different positions on the display area (8). The supporting section (44) includes within the interior portion a concave supporting platform extending around the pivot, the peripheral display flag being supported by a peripheral portion of this platform. The concave shape of the supporting platform provides reinforcement against unwanted motion of the pointer flag in the opening due to externally induced vibration.
