Zusammenfassung: | A method of upgrading wax feedstock product from a Fischer-Tropsch synthesis reaction comprising C5+ hydrocarbons, comprises treating the wax feedstock by subjecting the wax feedstock and a source of hydrogen to a temperature in the range 200 to 400{C and a pressure in the range 20 to 100 bar (2 MPa to 10 MPa) at a hydrogen to hydrocarbon liquid volumetric flow rate of 100 to 1000 N1 H2 per litre liquid hydrocarbon feed, over at least one bifunctional hydrogenation active catalyst, and subsequently fractionating the treated product to produce a base oil fraction. The feedstock comprises the entire C5+ fraction from an FT synthesis containing at least 0.2 wt% oxygen as oxygenates and having a C5 - C9/C10+ weight ratio of at least 0.05. The treatment of the wax feedstock preferably comprises hydroisomerisation and dewaxing. |
