Zusammenfassung:	A diesel engine exhaust gas aftertreatment system is described. The system includes a heat transfer device 106 comprising a first side 106A and a second side 106B, a heater 108 downstream of the first side 106A of the heat transfer device 106, a filter 110 downstream of the heater 108 and an exhaust recirculation path 114 downstream of the filter 110 leading to the second side 106B of the heat transfer device 106. The exhaust path is preferably isolated from an external surface of the filter 110 to inhibit heat transfer from the heated exhaust gas exiting the filter 110 to the external surface of the filter 110. A method of use of the system is also described and claimed.
