Zusammenfassung:	An animal drinking trough 1 comprises a container 2 having a hollow interior region (4, fig 3) for water, and an open mouth (5, fig 3). A lid 6 is releasably secured to the container for closing the open mouth. Snout accommodating openings 8 are formed in the lid. Floatable balls 80 float on the water for closing the snout accommodating openings. A plurality of spigots (10, fig 3) extending upwardly from the periphery of the container releasably engage with corresponding engagement recesses (11, fig 4) in the lid to secure the lid to the container via a snap-fit action.
