Zusammenfassung: | A door system for an aircraft comprises a flight deck door 102 hinged 122 to a flight deck bulkhead 116, an adjacent lavatory 106 having bulkhead 108 and a latching mechanism 104 for locking the door in the first position where it engages the flight deck bulkhead 116, and a second position where it engages the toilet bulkhead 108. In this way, the cockpit door can be swung to separate the cockpit (portion above door in figure) and toilet from the passenger cabin, thereby making it a secure zone for a pilot to utilize the toilet. The toilet itself has a dedicated door 110, which may be curved to clear the swinging cockpit gate. Ideally the door 102 is able to assume a third configuration where it engages the galley bulkhead 132 to allow access between passenger cabin and cockpit. The handle of the cockpit door may have to be turned to different positions depending on the desired position. |
