Zusammenfassung: | A coaxial cable connector 10 comprises a connector body 12 and a nut 18 rotatably mounted to the body 12 and threaded 50 to connect to a complementary connector. In a first aspect the thread of the nut is mismatched with regards the complementary connector to create an interference fit between the connectors. The thread mismatch may be created by the connector having an unequal number of threads per unit length compared to the complementary connector. Alternatively a portion of the threaded nut may have a conically tapered pitch; the first half of the nut may have a straight portion with a constant pitch and the second half may have successively decreasing pitch diameters of the thread. Ideally the thread taper angle is between 0.25 and 5 degrees. In another aspect an annular post 16 is provided within the connector body 12 and a biasing element acts between the post and the nut to urge the nut into contact with the threads of the complementary connector thereby increasing the interference fit. The post 16 preferably has an annular flange 38 and the nut may have an annular inwardly projecting wall 66 against which the biasing element is urged; the biasing element may be a spring such as a compression spring, wave spring, conical spring washer, Bellville washer or compressible o-ring. |
