Zusammenfassung:Known sluice gates 1 are particularly prone to catch or trap debris, particularly in waste water sewerage systems. The trapped debris interferes with the operation of the sluice gate by forming blockages, restricting movement and clogging associated mechanisms. A sluice gate is provided which has a gate comprising a lower gate member 100 and an upper gate member 200, the lower gate member and the upper gate member being movable relative to one another. The upper gate member is moveable within the sluice gate from a fully raised position in which a maximum liquid flow is permitted through the gate, to a fully lowered position in which a predetermined liquid flow is permitted through the gate. An aperture 101 and 201 may be formed in the gate to set the predetermined liquid flow through the gate. In this way, the sluice gate is less likely to trap debris. The sluice gate provided is especially useful in waste water sewerage systems.
