Method for testing a navigation receiver in a communication device

A method is provided for testing a navigation receiver 10 in a communication device, the communication device further comprising a means for mobile wireless communication 20. The method comprises, connecting the communication device to an equipment testing device, sending navigation assistance data information comprising test configuration data from the test equipment device via the device for mobile wireless communication 20 to the navigation receiver 10 over a data communication port to initiate the test procedure, sending test navigation ranging signals from the equipment testing device to the navigation receiver 10, processing the test navigation ranging signals in the navigation receiver 10, sending a message in response to the test procedure from the navigation receiver 10 to the means for mobile wireless communication 20, and feeding back the message to the equipment testing device. The method is particularly suited for allowing the navigation receiver test to be integrated with the mobile wireless communication device test during production in order to reduce the test time.
