Zusammenfassung:A system for authorizing a software product to be used on a computer receives authorization information associated with the software product from a Point of Sale system (POS) located at a retailer 500, 502. In response the system modifies a database entry associated with the software product to authorize use of the software product 504. When the software product is installed in a computer 600, the system receives registration information associated with the software product from the computer 602 and checks the database entry to determine if installation of the software product is authorized 604. If the product is not authorized a message is sent to the computer and the product is subsequently disabled 610, 612.
