Zusammenfassung:	Control and monitoring apparatus 1 for fluid dispensing means 7 (for example in industrial cleaning appliances) comprises a local monitoring and control apparatus 2 and a remote control and monitoring apparatus 3,5. Said local and remote apparatus are linked via a communications link A (this may be an internet link). The local control apparatus 2 directly controls and monitors the fluid dispensing means (for example in the form of a pump 7). The local controller may contain a database 11 of pre-programmed control and monitoring routines. The remote control and monitoring apparatus 3,5 may be used to perform maintenance, diagnostic and testing routines as well as monitoring the usage of the dispensed fluid in order to coordinate re-supply etc. The remote controller 3,5 may control and monitor the said local control and monitoring means at a number of remote locations.
