Zusammenfassung:	Can-less sliver packages 5 from an upstream sliver delivering machine, e.g. storage means 55(a-c), are received on a substantially unenclosed support 25, e.g. a pallet, and then transferred to a downstream sliver fed machine, e.g. spinning machine 51(a-d). The support pallet may be provided with further support elements 26 against which the package(s) 5 may rest. The support and/or the supporting elements may be inclinable about a horizontal axis. The transport device 30,57 [37, 38a,b Figure 14] may be selected from a fork-lift truck, a wagon, a track or rail guided vehicle, belt conveyor or a suspended conveyor. The support is capable of holding at least one package 5.
