Zusammenfassung: | A medical imaging device 10 for investigating subcutaneous tissue 20 in a body portion 12 comprises a light source 34 configured to illuminate the tissue with substantially coherent light. Lens 40 is interposed between the body part under investigation and sensor module 30, and acts to focus an image of the tissue upon the sensor. The image obtained by the sensor is displayed upon a display 80 and is used to identify the position of tissue of interest to assist, for example, with location of intravenous injection sites etc. The device may also comprise means to compare the obtained images with images held in memory to determine image matches. Such comparison may be used to uniquely identify the individual under investigation. |
