Wristband

A wristband (1, fig.1) incorporating a fastening device 2 comprising a channel with an entrance portion 32 and an exit portion 33 which are parallel but may be misaligned. A spike 27 projects into the channel so that the fabric wristband material 3 may flow over the spike 27 when it is pulled through the channel from entrance 32 to exit 33 but is prevented from moving the other way because it is pierced by the spike 27, which may be a metal pin and may project into the channel at the point of misalignment. The fastening device 2 may be brightly coloured or luminous and may include two spikes 27. The fabric wristband material 3 may have an intricate pattern woven or sewn into it. The wristband may be used to assist with crowd control at large concerts or sporting events. The wristband material 3 has to be cut in order to remove the wristband.
