Zusammenfassung: | The dielectric fluid is produced by catalytic hydroisomerisation of a highly paraffinic wax. The fluid comprises at least 10 wt% monocycloparaffinic compounds, at most 3 wt% multicycloparaffinic compounds and less than 0.3 wt% aromatic compounds. The catalyst comprises a shape selective intermediate pour size molecular sieve including a noble metal, especially Pd or Pt. The wax is preferably produced by a Fischer-Tropsch process. The composition has a specific kinematic viscosity, pour point and T90 boiling point. The composition may also include pour point depressants, antioxidants and metal deactivators. The fluid is used as an insulating and cooling medium in transformers, regulators, circuit breakers, switchgear and electrical cables. |
