Zusammenfassung:	A protective cover 1 for a cutting wheel 24 of a hand-held cutting machine that is driven by an internal combustion engine is described. The protective cover 1 has a circumferential wall 13 and two sidewalls 10, 11 adjoining the circumferential wall 13. The circumferential wall 13 as well as the sidewalls 10, 11 form the protective cover 1 as a component made as a monolithic part of cast light metal. The circumferential wall 13 has in the circumferential direction over sections thereof an integral thicker portion (Figure 3, 9). In comparison to the thicker circumferential wall 13, the sidewalls 10, 11 are thinner.
