Zusammenfassung:	A link chain comprises a repeating subsequence of chain links, wherein a first chain link 2 has a dividing element 8, 9 on at least one of its two shanks 6, 7 that separates the interior of the first chain link 2 into two movement spaces, and a following second chain link 3 which can submerge into the movement space of the first chain link 2 only to such an extent that when the longitudinal axis of the second chain link 3 is misaligned with the axis of the first chain link by less than ninety degrees (90{), the outside 11 of its arc 12 makes contact with the noses 8, 9 of the first chain link 2, if at the same time, the inside of the straight shank 10 of the second chain link 3 rests against the arc 5 of the first chain link 2. The second chain link 3 may not possess a dividing nose.
