Zusammenfassung: | A router comprises body housing 12 which contains a motor and means for driving tool 15. Housing 12 is slideably received in base 22, which forms a protective cowl around the tool 15, is constructed from metal and is equipped with non-metallic jacket 18. Jacket 18 may have recesses 19 or other texturing to improve grip. Locking screw 25 is received by tabs 24 and serves to clamp base 22 around the housing 12 to prevent their relative axial movement. A bayonet catch (not shown) is provided to prevent inadvertent removal of the housing when the clamp is open. Housing 12 may be placed in two discrete angular positions relative to base 22 in order to allow axial adjustment (and thus control of cutting depth of tool 15). In a first position, the housing may slide freely with respect to the base in order to effect a coarse axial adjustment. In a second position, control knob 28 rotates a bolt which engages with a screw thread on the housing to effect a fine axial adjustment. |
