Zusammenfassung: | A process for the production of a laminar moulding comprises a layer of foamable material 3 wherein a piece of the foamable material is held within a mould cavity 4 and a substrate (5 figure 3) is moulded around the foamable material at a temperature above which the foamable material normally foams and where the foamable material adheres to the substrate during the moulding process and remains unfoamed. The moulding process may be either injection or blow moulding and the foamable material may be a reinforcing thermosetting material such as an ethylene unsaturated ester copolymer where the unsaturated ester is a vinyl acetate and or an acrylate ester. The foamable material may have an expansion of between 100 to 1500% and is a heat activated adhesive material. A later embodiment relates to a multilayer moulding comprising a foamable material, part of which is sandwiched between two layers of a substrate. |
