Zusammenfassung:	A detonative cleaning apparatus, or soot blower, features a conduit 146 defining a flow path through a vessel wall 148, and a flow path valve 154 having an open and closed condition. This as described is the "second conduit" in relation to what follows. Also disclosed is a related apparatus further comprising a first conduit 170 and valve 176, the second conduit 170 being receivable in a portion, generally in the region of 182, of the first conduit 170. Also disclosed is a related method consistent with the normal usage of the described apparatus. The apparatus / method provide a means of detonative cleaning of such industrial plant as a furnace. The sealed valve connection configuration, permitting attachment and activation of the soot blower without the need to substantially take the plant off-line.
