Zusammenfassung:	A fluoropolymer coating is provided on an elongate metal object (1), such as fuser or pressure roller for photocopiers, by applying a first fluoropolymer coating (2) on to the object using a powder or dispersion coating process, heating the object to a temperature sufficient to melt the applied coating, and passing the object and its melted coating through an extruder head 95) for applying a second fluoropolymer coating (7). In one embodiment the fluoropolymer is selected from the group consisting of fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP), perfluoroalkoxyethylene (PFA) and ethylene tetrafluoroethylene (ETFE). A fluoropolymer coating may also be formed on an elongate object having an an elastomeric surface comprises modifying the elastomeric surface to receive an intermediate adhesive bonding layer such as polyethylene, applying the bonding layer and extruding the fluoropolymer coating onto the bonding layer.
