Zusammenfassung:	An assembly is provided for internal placement of a component 10 within a vehicle fuel tank 12. The assembly includes two housing elements 16, 20 biased apart. A spring 24 urges the housings 16, 20 apart telescopically. Each housing 16, 20 has a protrusion 38, 42 for location against interior features 56, 60 of the fuel tank walls 46, 48. The component 10 may be a vent valve sensitive to gradients. An intermediate third housing 18 may be provided. The assembly may be prevented from rotation by using non-circular protrusions. It may have a pin 19 to prevent excessive spring 24 compression. The assembly is fitted without using processes which could be detrimental to the fuel tank walls.
