Zusammenfassung: | A reformate clean-up reactor 400 takes a reformate stream 415A and passes it through multiple subreactors that are integrated into a common reactor housing 405A. The reactor includes a gas shift subreactor 430A to promote the conversion of carbon monoxide to carbon dioxide, a gaseous diffusion membrane subreactor 440A to provide a hydrogen-rich portion 420A of the reformate stream, and a methanation subreactor 450A to convert carbon monoxide into methane and water. The shift subreactor is preferably a water gas shift subreactor provided with baffles 460A. The hydrogen-rich portion is used in a fuel cell, e.g. proton exchange member (PEM), particularly for use in a vehicle. The reformate stream is preferably produced from reforming methanol. |
