Zusammenfassung: | An inkjet recording material comprises a substrate and an ink receiving coating applied thereto, consisting of silica particles in a binder of gelatin and a cationic polyvinyl alcohol derivative. The ratio of silica particles to binder is typically between 5:1 and 1.3:1 and is preferably between 1.5:1 and 1.3:1. The silica particles may be between 1 and 25 microns in size. The polyvinyl alcohol derivative may be a vinylalcohol / vinylamine copolymer with a molecular weight range of 10000 to 170000 and comprising ca. 20% vinylamine. The said copolymer may be prepared by the copolymerisation of a vinyl acetate and an N-vinyl amide followed by hydrolysis. |
