Zusammenfassung:	A protecting cap structure for the needle of a syringe (2) comprises a protecting sleeve (1) having a receiving space for receiving a needle (21). The protecting sleeve comprises a foldable cover (11) and a cylindrical extendible member (12) which takes the form of a hollow cylinder the shank of which has a compression portion (121) and a pair of foldable portions (122). The foldable cover (11) is in the shape of a semi-cylinder, one end of which is connected to the cylindrical extendible member (12) in order that when the cover is folded to close, it cooperates with the cylindrical extendible member (12) to envelop the needle to prevent the needle from accidentally stabbing a person handling the syringe.
