Zusammenfassung:A binder composition for a non-woven material such as fibreglass comprises a polymeric binder, an active hydrogen crosslinker, and a catalyst comprising a Lewis acid, organic acid salt and/or free radical generator. The catalyst is present in an amount of 1-25 wt. % based on the weight of the binder. The Lewis acid may be Al2(SO4)3.xH2O, MgCl2.6H2O or AlK(SO4)2.10H2O, the organic acid salt may be an alkaline earth salt and the free radical generator may be a peroxide. The binder preferably comprises (meth)acrylic acid and together with the crosslinker may form a single copolymer. A formaldehyde-free bonded fibrous material having a substrate capable of bearing a film comprising the binder composition is also disclosed. A bonded fibreglass mat having a substrate capable of bearing a film comprising a binder composition is also claimed, wherein the composition comprises a polymeric binder, a polyamine crosslinker, and a catalyst comprising a Lewis acid, organic acid salt, free radical generator, phosphorus-containing compound and/or fluoroborate compound.
