Infant cot

A space saving modular furniture unit comprises: a chest of drawers module 1; a child's bed module 4; and a cot [Figure 1]. The drawer module forms a base unit for the infant cot and comprises a box-like structure having four sides and a horizontal top surface. Three vertical channels [19,20,21 Figure 9] surround the top surface and slidably receive respective side or end members 8,15. The side or end members can be removed from the channels or locked at different heights. An end frame 16 of the cot can be re-configured to provide a baby changing surface, with the frame 16 resting on indexing points 14 and the end frame 15. The furniture unit may adopt different configurations so as to become a baby changing facility [Figure 3], a cot with or without a chest of drawers [Figures 1 and 5], and a child's bed with or without a chest of drawers [Figure 6]. The side frame 15 may act as a locking means for the chest of drawers module 1. A mattress 3 may be located on a mattress support surface 7. The height of the mattress may be varied.
